Chelsea Manning Files for Senate Run in Maryland
PhotoWASHINGTON — Chelsea Manning, the previous Army private convicted of disclosing classified data, has filed to run for Senate in Maryland, according to federal election filings. Ms. Manning, who was charged of leaking further than 700,000 Gov. files to WikiLeaks in 2013, would face Senator Benjamin L. Cardin in the Democratic primary race this year. Mr. Cardin is Maryland's senior senator & the highest Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. ever ever her release, Ms. Manning, 30, has written about toll free speech, civil liberties, queer & transgender rights & computer safety for publications such as The Guardian.
